LTI Advantage

Education institutions can now integrate their LMS with Riipen using LTI Advantage, to take advantage of deep linking and advanced grade passback. Learn more

Rubric scoring

Final submissions and milestones can now have detailed rubrics, with multiple criteria and performance levels per criterion. Learner submissions can be assessed manually, or with AI assistance, and with LTI integration can be automatically passed back to a linked LMS. Learn more

Scheduled events

Experience administrators can now create events directly from the experience wizard or experience settings. Learners and employers will see these events in their team page sidebar, view full details on a standalone page, and get reminders for upcoming events and meetings. Users can also attach files when creating a new meeting.

On-demand conversation summaries

Experience admins can now generate a new conversation summary on demand, right from the Team Tracker - available for both "Team + Employer" and "All learners + Employer" conversation types, wherever the matching summary setting is already enabled under Experience settings → Project management → Features. Previously, summaries only generated automatically on the set interval (weekly or monthly); now admins can also trigger one on demand at any time. To use it, select one or more teams (all selected teams must have a kickoff conversation for the action to appear), choose how many past days to include (7, 30, 60, or 90), and hit Generate.

Improvements

  • Failed payment authorization flow - When a payment authorization fails during project match acceptance, users now see a clear error message and can set an existing payment method as primary or add a new one, with a confirmation modal either way. Any new card added this way automatically becomes primary, and the same flow now applies to adding payment methods via Company > Billing.
  • Request match with no projects - For employers with no existing projects, the "Request Match" button now says "Create Project" and goes straight to the project wizard. Once they publish, they're brought back into the match request flow automatically.
  • Competency ratings removed from feedback - Competency ratings have been removed from experience feedback.
  • More context on feedback cards - Feedback cards now show the company and portal name (e.g., "CompanyName x PortalName") instead of just the recipient, making it easier to see which program or institution each piece of feedback is tied to.
  • Portal agreement templates tab for admins - Riipen admins can now see the new Portal agreement templates tab in the portal's main navigation, following the same access rules already in place.
  • Team activity digest expanded - The team activity digest email now can also be enabled for Riipen admins with an educator role and teams permission.
  • Withdrawal reminder on cancelled teams - The cancelled team email to employers now includes a reminder to withdraw unreserved funds when applicable, to clarify that deposits aren't automatically returned.
  • Suspended companies hidden from search - Suspended companies no longer appear on the company search page. Previously, companies suspended by Compliance for inappropriate content were still showing up.
  • Read-only chats when everyone leaves - If all participants leave a conversation, the chat now switches to read-only instead of staying active. Users can then choose to archive it, in both the inbox and chat overlay.
  • Team status permission updates - Deleting a team is now restricted to Riipen admins only, since it's a highly destructive action. Manually deactivating a team is also removed for all users except admins, though automated status updates continue as before, and cancelling/marking a team Incomplete remains available to Educators, Employers, and Admins.
  • Company moderation on create/update - When a company is created or updated, its name, bio, and website are now automatically checked with AI for inappropriate or illegal content. Flagged companies are surfaced in Forest Admin for Riipen review only - nothing changes on the platform itself.
  • Stripe account notifications - Connected account owners now get proactive email notifications when their Stripe account needs action, becomes restricted, or is disabled, instead of only finding out by visiting certain pages. Emails route to the right recipients based on payment permissions and link to the correct page to resolve the issue, with a reminder sent 2 days later if unresolved.
  • Work log improvements - The work log tab now shows a "last updated" date, and the final submission page has a new summary comparing logged vs. expected hours per learner. Learners also get an updated "My Work Log Progress" indicator in their team sidebar. The old free-text Task field in the log work modal has been replaced with a structured Activity type dropdown for more consistent reporting.
  • Smarter company profiles - New company profiles are now automatically populated using data from Apollo.io, helping employers complete onboarding faster with a more professional, accurate profile. This gives learners and educators more complete company info to inform their projects, and gives Riipen admins richer data across the board.
  • Worklog reporting - Portal and experience-level worklog reporting is now available, showing total hours, average hours per learner/team/project/experience, and average hours per entry. It also includes a vertical bar chart of work log entries over time.
  • Streamlined company creation - After creating a company, employers now go straight to their dashboard instead of landing on an extra "Company created" success screen. Previous redirect rules like routing back to an experience page if they signed up through that path are still in place.
  • Payment receipts - Payments now generate a dedicated receipt page (payment date, payee details, subtotal/taxes/fees/total, and payment method breakdown), accessible via a secure link from the receipt email, the Payment details page, and the Payments table on invoices. Invoice pages now show the full total including taxes and fees instead of just the subtotal, and clicking a Charge takes users to the Payments page's Charges tab instead of a separate charge page. Billing balance pages also get a new search bar to look up transactions by Payment, Charge, Deposit, Refund, or Withdrawal ID.
  • Clearer submission edit history - Reviewers can now see exactly what changed on a learner's final submission and when. The submission panel shows a static "Submitted on" date plus a "Last updated" date if edits were made, individual files show their own upload dates, and a new Submission history panel logs every edit with who made it. The task card also switches from "Completed on" to "Last updated" once a post-submission edit happens.
  • Settings page UX update - Settings pages now have individually editable sections and support search across all menu items within settings.
  • Remove avatar option Users can now remove an existing avatar directly from the upload image modal, across learner, educator, employer, portal, and company profiles - no need to upload a replacement image just to clear it.
  • Safer date of birth entry - Date of birth fields now validate that the date isn't in the future, is at least 13 years ago, and isn't more than 120 years ago. This applies going forward only - existing records are untouched.
  • Clearer member-added emails - When someone is added to a team via import, the "member created" email now includes the specific project and experience name instead of generic text, so new members immediately understand what they've been added to.
  • Simplified program type selection - The Degree dropdown in EducationExperience has been renamed "Program type" and simplified to a short, consistent list of options (with an "Other" free-text option). Existing entries will be migrated to the new list automatically.
