In-platform reporting

Portal reports have moved in-platform - the same data, a more integrated experience. As a portal admin, the Reports tab of your portal lets you view up to the minute reporting data for your current portal, without leaving Riipen. Survey summaries have been moved to a more robust embedded report experience.

Application page improvements

The learner application page has been restructured into five tabs — Application, Screening Questions, Resume, Notes, and Project Details — with separate layouts for individual and team applications. Employers can now view a learner's resume directly in an embedded PDF viewer on the page, without needing to download the file.

Tagging in notes and submission comments

You can now tag other users directly in notes by typing @ followed by their name — the tagged user gets both an in-app activity notification and an email. Tagging is supported across match request notes, learner member pages, portal company pages, and flag pages, with visibility scoped to users who have permission to view that note. Tagging is also available in milestone and final submission comments, with the same notification behaviour. Notes can now also be added to flag pages for the first time, visible to educators with flag access.

Experience proposals

Educators now start experience creation through a short form submission, allowing Riipen to take on the heavy lifting of experience design, with input from the educator.

Required profile fields for experiences

Experience admins can now configure required profile fields for participating employers and learners directly from the experience wizard — selecting from a predefined set of public and private fields (such as business number, minority status, gender identification, and more). Employers will be prompted to complete any required company profile fields during the match request process, and learners will be prompted when joining an experience via access code, member request, or invitation. Private fields are optional in the edit profile view until filled, at which point they become mandatory — and are never visible on public profiles. Fields are conditionally shown based on user type and location (e.g. Canadian vs. U.S. business fields), keeping the experience relevant to each participant.

Improvements

  • Educators can now set a maximum project duration in days on an experience, which is enforced across the match request wizard, application wizard, and date change flows.
  • Company sign up allows creating new company or joining existing. The company creation step of onboarding now allows employers to find and request to join their existing company profile, or to create a new one.
  • Project proposal wizard consistency The project proposal wizard now follows the same flow as the single import wizard — same company selection step, same draft project form, and aligned match details step. Outcome also now matches the import flow (project created in closed state, claim required).
  • Duplicate experience date options When duplicating an experience, you can now choose whether to copy over dates and milestones — or skip them and enter new ones.
  • Updated provisioned user email The account creation email sent to employers imported via experience-level project import now includes the company name, project name, experience name, and portal name, along with a "Set password" CTA and a help documentation link.
  • Choose whether to keep a match open after declining an application The "Decline application" modal now includes a checkbox to keep the match open to new team applications. It's checked by default unless "No longer seeking learners" is selected.
  • Bookmark confirmation A confirmation toast now appears whenever you bookmark an item.
  • Away message for your inbox You can now set up an auto-response for incoming messages — useful for when you're out of office or unavailable. Set a message, optional start and stop times, and manage it anytime from the ellipsis menu next to your Messages header. Note: context-specific auto-responses (like match request and application replies) still take priority.
  • Refund visibility across billing pages Refund information is now surfaced across invoice, payment, and charges pages — including total refunded, net totals, and a new dedicated refund page. Refunds also appear in activity history and can be filtered by transaction type on balances pages.
  • Rich link previews when sharing Riipen pages Riipen pages now generate rich previews when shared on LinkedIn, Slack, Teams, and other major platforms. Company, project, achievement, profile and certificate pages each show a relevant image, title, and description tailored to that page type.
  • "Highest Rated" sort now accounts for volume On the project and experience marketplaces, listings with the same star rating are now sorted by the number of ratings received, so higher-volume results surface first. Listings with no ratings are grouped at the bottom.
  • Meeting integration settings open in a new tab The "Integration settings" link on the create meeting page now opens in a new tab, so users don't lose their place. The dropdown also refreshes automatically if a new integration is added in the other tab.
  • Meeting notifications fixed Creating a meeting with a Zoom integration was triggering two notifications and two conversation messages instead of one. This has been resolved — users will now see a single "Meeting created" notification and message.
  • Email verification prompt for password changes In account authentication settings, users with an unconfirmed primary email will now see a warning and disabled password fields, with an inline prompt to resend their confirmation email before making changes.
  • Experience recommendations link to filtered marketplace "View all" and "Find matches" links on a project for employer experience recommendations now open the marketplace with the relevant recommendations filter pre-applied, which employers can view and remove.
  • Member state visible in team A new State column has been added to the Team Members table, showing each member's status as Active or Suspended. Visible to anyone with access to the Members tab.
  • AI conversation summaries for All Learners + Employer conversations AI conversation summaries and flags can now be enabled for the All Learners + Employer conversation type, configured under Experience Settings > Features > Conversations. Visibility follows the same permission logic as existing conversation summaries — summaries cannot be enabled if Educator conversation access is set to "No access."
  • Improved LinkedIn sharing Content shared from Riipen to LinkedIn now includes personalized post copy for Feedback, Achievements, and Certificates — with details like project name, company name, feedback quotes, and skills demonstrated, replacing the generic default text.
  • Educator member invite improvements When inviting educators to an experience, the invite modal now shows a dropdown of portal educator members alongside a free-text email field for anyone not already in the portal — consistent with how team inviting works.
  • Segmented announcements Educators can now send experience announcements to specific recipients — selected teams, matches, or individual members — rather than broadcasting to everyone. Recipients see posts in the Experience page > Announcements tab, with an unread badge when new posts arrive, and the tab now supports keyword search and recipient-type filtering so announcements are easier to manage at scale

Bug Fixes

  • Void teams counted in team count — Learners were seeing an inflated team count on matches where they had a pending application. Only active, inactive, completed, and incomplete teams are now counted.
  • Employer application nametags — Experience and project nametags on the employer applications table were missing company and portal names.
  • Unread badge showing at zero — The mobile nav was showing an unread badge even when the count was 0.
  • Industry filter fix Filtering projects by industry was returning no results — this has been resolved.
  • Match request questions blocking acceptance Admins and employers were unable to accept a match when request questions were unanswered — this has been fixed.
  • Mobile padding fixed on profile pages On mobile, the user, company, and portal profile pages were missing standard side padding, causing content to sit too close to the screen edges. This has been fixed and the layout is now consistent with other mobile pages.
  • Temporary authorization holds fixed for match request acceptance Employers were experiencing failures when attempting to accept match requests due to an issue with temporary authorization holds. This has been resolved and match requests can now be accepted as expected.
